Mind Your Art Business

Mind Your Art Business is VVAA’s signature professional development program designed for emerging visual artists who are ready to take their careers seriously and strategically. The program equips artists with essential tools to navigate the business side of their practice while remaining grounded in their creative vision.

Through a series of workshops, mentorship opportunities, and access to resources, artists learn how to articulate their work, build a professional presence, and understand how to engage with galleries, collectors, and institutions. Participants leave with concrete materials—such as an artist statement and website—and the confidence to advocate for their work in professional settings.

What artists gain:
-Clarity in articulating their artistic practice
-Practical business and career skills
-Professional tools to support long-term growth
-Increased readiness for exhibitions, grants, and collaborations

Art As Communications

Art as Communication is a VVAA program that uses visual art as a bridge between children and their parents or caregivers. The program centers art as a powerful tool for emotional expression—helping young people articulate feelings that may be difficult to put into words, while inviting adults to listen, reflect, and engage more deeply.

Through guided art activities, facilitated conversations, and family-centered programming, participants explore emotions, identity, and lived experience together. Art becomes a shared language—one that supports emotional learning, strengthens relationships, and fosters empathy across generations.

This program is especially focused on helping children develop emotional awareness and communication skills while creating supportive spaces for parents and caregivers to better understand their child’s inner world.

Program outcomes include:

-Improved emotional literacy and self-expression for children

-Stronger communication between kids and parents

-Increased empathy and understanding within families

-Creative tools families can use beyond the program

Our next round of workshops will begin in Spring 2026. To be notified when registration becomes available, join the waiting list below.
